Intensity, how hard you go in the gym, is often linked to the rate of perceived exertion — i.e. the score you’d give yourself based on your effort.
And if you’re like everybody else, I bet you view effort as something audible or observable.
Well, it seems like I have to be the one to break it to you…
All that yelling and scrunching of your face you’re doing doesn’t mean anything if you’re not actually training hard.
And training hard extends waaaayyyy beyond looking and sounding like you’re training hard.
Yup, there’s a lot more to workout intensity than meets the eye…and ear.
