Weight Loss Tip: no.1708
Carbs like bread, rice, and pasta don’t have to be completely eliminated from your diet.
Care to guess why?
Yup, carbs don’t have to be totally avoided because there’s no truth to the idea that carbs make you fat. What makes you gain weight is overeating, or taking in more calories than your body needs, and that can happen with any category of food.
That said that there’s nothing inherent about carbs that’ll add pounds or prevent you from shedding them, it must be said that not all carbs are created equal. While all carbs provide the energy that’s needed for your body to perform its vital functions and engage in movement, weight loss is better supported with complex carbs. As opposed to simple carbs that digest quickly and lead to a cascade of events that promote hunger and fat storage, complex carbs take longer to digest, which helps you feel full and reduce your appetite, in addition to providing sustained energy so you can carry on activity for longer and burn a greater amount of calories.
