Habit Tracker Worksheet

Habit tracking involves monitoring behavior that you’re trying to change. A habit tracker is the tool by which you can keep an eye on the new actions you want to form as part of your routine, as well as the old ones you want to break and do less regularly. All you have to do is record every instance that you do or don’t behave in the way you’re supposed to.

Habit tracking and using a habit tracker to do so is beneficial for a number of reasons. One is that habit tracking provides a reminder that helps trigger a desired action. Two, habit tracking helps to identify patterns, such as when you don’t perform a target behavior, from which you can then come up with a strategy to make the behavior easier to fulfill. Lastly, a habit tracker is visual documentation that provides accountability for why you’re not making progress and gives motivation to continue even before the effects of the habit start to show.
