How Do Vegans Get Enough Protein In Their Diet?

How Do Vegans Get Enough Protein In Their Diet?

Q: I’m already self-righteous and shit but I’m thinking about jumping on the vegan bandwagon so I can be self-righteous and shit about something with a bunch of people instead of only by myself. You know, to make it more fun! So how do I go about getting the right amount of protein? Meeting protein needs as a vegan just has to be different from the way that you meat-eating scumbags do it!

A: Because you’re so different from everyone else because your moral superiority doesn’t allow you to eat cute, cuddly creatures or delicious products made from them, how on earth do you go about eating whatever amount of protein is needed for you to satisfy your nutritional needs?

I know what I’m about to tell you is insane but hear me out…

Were we to suppose that your macros called for you to eat 150 grams of protein, for example, then to reach that target, what you would do is eat the requisite amount of seitan, tofu, tempeh, edamame, lentils, chickpeas, spelt, teff, and other boring shit that’s needed to supply 150 grams of protein.

Yeah, that shit is insane that you would go about satisfying your protein requirements similar to how a meat-eater would, with the exception being that you’d hit your desired macro target by eating the fruits, vegetables, grains, pulses, nuts, seeds, beans, and legumes that constitute a vegan diet rather than supping on cute, cuddly creatures and the delicious products made from them.

Like I said, it’s fucking insane!

But wait, how do you know you’re eating the exact amount of protein that’s needed?

Once again, I know what I’m about to tell you is insane but hear me out…

Were you aiming to eat 150 grams of protein, what you would do to make sure that you’re meeting that daily target is to buy a food scale and weigh your seitan, tofu, tempeh, edamame, lentils, chickpeas, spelt, teff, and other boring shit similar to how a meat-eater would weigh out their food.

The insanity doesn’t end there, though!

NOPE!!!

What you would then do is input your portions into a food tracking app like CalorieKing, FitDay, or MyFitnessPal to make sure that all the seitan, tofu, tempeh, edamame, lentils, chickpeas, spelt, teff, and other boring shit that you eat for the day tallies up to 150 grams of protein similar to how a meat-eater would do with their food.

So yeah, how do vegans get enough protein?

The answer is by doing the same shit that anyone else would do who eats food.

Like I said, that shit is insane!

INSANE!!!

Now, does anyone else have a fitness or nutrition question of their own that they want to ask?⁣⁣
