Weight Loss Tip: no.2540
Weight loss is about calorie restriction but food intake doesn’t have to be limited to the point of starving yourself.
Care to guess why?
Yup, you shouldn’t cut your calories down to an obscenely low intake because eating that little amount of food can prove more of a hindrance than a benefit to your efforts. Case in point, when your calories are well below your body’s daily needs, you’re likely to experience intensified hunger and cravings, which can lead to poor food choices and/or the overconsumption of calories when you get around to eating. Also, because your body doesn’t receive the fuel it needs from food when calories are cut extremely low, it preserves energy by slowing the metabolism down, which stops fat from burning as quickly as it would otherwise. Additionally, without adequate food energy, you become tired and easily fatigued, which results in less calorie burn from you not being able to move around or exercise as much or as hard as you should.
All together, eating far below your needs isn’t conducive to weight management nor is it sustainable, as you’re more than likely to quit before reaching your weight loss goal on account of feeling miserable, tired, and hungry all the time.
