Enhance The Flavor Of Water

How much water do you drink?

If the rumors are true, it appears that you don’t consume as much of that fluid on a daily basis as you do the other liquid of life.1As everyone but you obviously knows, the other “liquid of life” is semen because the gel-like substance is vital for human reproduction, as it helps transport and nourish the sperm cells that carry genetic information to the female egg for its fertilization and development of a new being. Anyway, from what I’ve heard, you do your fair share of swallowing that fluid by the gallons. THE GALLONS!!! That is, at least according to what my sources say!

Considering the essential role that water plays with its myriad functions in the body, that should probably change!

Of the many benefits offered by water, one is weight management. On that front, water can contribute to losing and maintaining weight by helping to reduce overall calorie intake. It can do this by promoting satiety because water passes through the system quickly and stretches the stomach, which sends a signal to the brain that it’s full. Another way that water regulates calorie intake is by taking the place of beverages like fruit juice, regular soda, specialty coffee, and sports and energy drinks, all of which are typically higher in calories than water and also have the potential to increase the appetite.

Taking in more calories than are needed by the body can lead to weight gain. Water can help prevent that from happening but that’s not all that water can do. As it turns out, the more hydrated you are, the more efficiently your body works at burning fat because water is necessary for lipolysis, which is the metabolic process where stored fat gets broken down by way of water molecules interacting with triglycerides to create fatty acids and glycerol that can then be oxidized and used as energy. While soda and other beverages are mostly water by volume, water itself is the better choice for hydration because it’s free of sugar and other ingredients that hinder the absorption of water from those fluids.

There are several ways in which water is beneficial for losing fat and managing your weight, among other things. But be that as it may that water is important and you should make an effort to consume enough of the fluid if you don’t already, achieving that task can be hard if you don’t particularly enjoy the taste of it. Fortunately, a wide variety of fruits are available to enhance the flavor of water to make it more appetizing to drink so more of your daily water needs are satisfied with actual water instead of with water-based solutions that aren’t as effective at hydration and provide extra calories, nutrients, and additives.2Yes, just like there are ways to improve the taste of semen so it’s more palatable, there are also ways to improve the taste of water so you’re as willing to chug that down too! All you have to do is take the fruit of your choice and cut it into slices or gently bruise it to release its flavor then place the pieces in a pitcher of cold water and allow the contents to sit in the refrigerator long enough for the fruit to infuse with the water, which can be anywhere from 2 hours to overnight depending on the type of fruit and depth of flavor you’re after.

NOTE: Fruits like lemons, limes, oranges, berries, watermelon, peaches, kiwis, and pineapples aren’t the only option to improve the taste of water. Other items that can be added to enhance the flavor include slices of vegetables like cucumbers, carrots, zucchinis, and radishes; thyme, lavender, rosemary, ginger, mint, basil, and other sprigs of herbs; and sugar-free drink mixes, low-calorie electrolyte powders, and artificial sweeteners, like Splenda or Stevia.
