You don’t have to wait until New Year’s to make a resolution to lose weight or accomplish any other goal.
Care to guess why?
Yup, you should lose weight or make some other change to your life immediately rather than procrastinating by postponing action until the first of January or any other arbitrary date in the distance, as that time allows for the buildup of mental resistance to occur so the goal becomes much harder to begin when the artificial starting point finally arrives. On top of that, delay may also make the goal more difficult to follow through, as the prolonged inaction can result in the digging of a bigger hole that you have to get yourself out of, which amounts to more work and effort than would’ve been necessary had you begun sooner.
