Yup, you should have sex at least 3-5 times per week because sex can burn as many as 100 calories for men and 70 calories for women during the entire length of time it takes for foreplay, intercourse, and orgasm. Though the average duration of sex doesn’t burn as many calories as running on a treadmill over the same period, for instance, every bit helps and the energy expenditure can be increased by being more actively involved, incorporating different positions, and having sex for longer, if not a combination of all.

Additionally, foreplay and intercourse trigger the release of oxytocin, which skyrockets upon climax. That hormone is most known for providing stress relief but it has many other functions, one of which is that it temporarily curbs appetite. So sex can not only help burn calories but it can also put a restraint on food intake.
